It is important when planning to achieve great things that we understand not only the processes people use to aid the attainment of goals but also the self defeating methods used to keep ourself constrained.
In this series of articles we will consider each side of the spectrum to begin with we look at how people become proficient at either achieving a goal or making up excuses for why they were not achieved.

Vygotsky’s Zone of Proximal Development claimed that children reach their full potential with extra assistance. suggesting the difference between being and reaching your potential is assistance. Children generally receive this from their teachers, parents or siblings as they learn through experience and stimulation. As we become adults we no longer have this support and settle into the development scope we have made for ourselves.
Basically Vygotsky claimed that we all under achieve on our own when unassisted however when a new perspective is added we challenge ourselves to achieve more.
