Coaching is a co-active process whereby, through a series of discusses, greater understanding of the self can be attained. Vygotsky’s Zone of Proximal Development claimed that children reach their full potential with extra assistance. suggesting the difference between being and reaching your potential is assistance. Children generally receive this from their teachers, parents or siblings as they learn through experience and stimulation. As we become adults we no longer have this support and settle into the development scope we have made for ourselves.
Basically Vygotsky claimed that we all under achieve on our own when unassisted however when a new perspective is added we challenge ourselves to achieve more.
